The hotel has been refurbished very nicely. The location is excellent, line 5 from Gard du Nord. Many good resturants in the area. Good base from which to explore main Paris sights. Excellent continental breakfast choice. Very pleasant and helpful staff.
The hotel is in a quiet street off Place de Bastille, but there is still quite a lot of noise in the early morning. Not a problem for us as we like the city bustle, but some people would find a room overlooking the street too noisy.
The location is excellent !! Just 1 min from Metro and the Opera Bastille just opposite the round about, where I went for an opera on the first night I arrived. There are many nice Cafe and restaurants nearby, also you could explore the Marai area, very nice ; )
The room they first arranged me was on 5th floor which was with very heavy smell of cigarette and uncleaned .. I had to go out and let them do the cleaning first. But they changed me to another room at late night which is much better and very clean. Btw, I would hope the cleaning ladies to be more polite !
Hotel stuff not very cooperative - they would not try to order taxi for guest, saying that it's imposible to get it.
Friendly staff, clean, sizeable and well-appointed room, excellent for sight seeing and metro, breakfast will keep you full all day.
Make sure you ask for a room on the street, the rooms overlooking the courtyard could be pretty dark...
Location is great.
My room was very dark as my small window looked out to a central staircase. Also the hallways are a bit dark and dingy. The rooms are very basic.
I absolutely loved the room and the attentive staff. The location was also perfect. It was very quiet and what I would consider an authentic Parisian hotel experience.
Great location, right near Bastille, Metro, and Le Marais. Room was modern and clean.
Room was somewhat small, with not much room for luggage, but this is common in Europe.
The room was very modern and spacious in a great location.
Damien (A receptionist) hung up on me when I called to tell him that the water had been turned off. We were not given prior notice that the water would be turned off due to some renovations. I went downstairs to confront him about hanging up on a guest and he raised his voice. Certainly not the type of service I want when paying good money to stay at a hotel. Also, the hammering of renovations woke me abruptly in the morning.
It was located in the center of the city, which was easy to go to other places.
I thought it was going to be more in the Marais, so in the small side streets not right in the Bastille circle. That was hard to tell from the photo/website. But, as I stated above being in the middle was easy to get to other parts of the city -- although one of the Metro lines was closed for repair, no fault of the hote of course.
Severe smell of smoke in the room. Asked for non-smoking room
Location of this hotel was excellent- very close to metro and lots of shops and restaurants in the Marais district. The room was a good size for Paris and staff were friendly and helpful
There was a small charge for internet usage of 3 euro a stay, but internet access was very good and reliable so not really a problem
Met all requirements for my stay.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. One concierge even helped us make a doctor's appointment by phone. The room and bathroom were small, as you would expect in Paris, but efficiently layed out, so we didn't feel cramped. I liked that our bathroom had a bath tub, and was updated and modern. The water pressure in the shower was very good. It was warm in May, and the air conditioning worked very well. We took advantage of the hotel breakfast when we wanted to save time, and we thought the food was good, with plenty of variety to choose from. The location is handy to the Metro, and the neighborhood itself has sights to see, shops and restaurants.
We paid a little more to stay at this hotel than we usually do in Paris, but found the higher price worthwhile in this case. The location in a side street off the Place de la Bastille was excellent and convenient, The light and airy room (and bathroom) seemed to have been recently modernised and was fresh and clean. The breakfast buffet was generous and of good quality.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The location was convenient. The room was obviously recently redecorated - very stylish and comfortable. The bathroom was particularly spacious. Other reviewers have commented on the noise but I've yet to find a hotel in Paris that isn't noisy. What do people expect? It's just part of being in a busy European city. Some nice cafes nearby and the Place des Voges is lovely. There's also a market at Bastille. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
More electrical sockets would have been useful, as would a small kettle and coffee and tea supplies. Also, although not hugely expensive, I don't think there should really be a charge for wifi use these days. It's one of those things hotels should really offer for free.
